MY WORK
As a student at Northeastern University, Aidan’s studies have been highly interdisciplinary, weaving topics on society, design, and business together.
You will find that many of his works analyze the relationships between the three areas. How do society and business interact? How is the whole system designed? How does society mediate the actions of businesses? How does business mediate the actions of society? What does it look like? How does it feel?
Aidan’s work has reinforced his belief that in many ways, Business is the true American religion, with money always being worshipped in one way or another. It is necessary for our survival, and it is central to many of our routines, activities, and societal norms. Since corporations have so much power in our present landscape, and most Americans dedicate their life’s work to an economic entity, an understanding of business is an understanding of our world. Additionally, since companies are self-serving and are increasingly deregulated, there are a variety of uncertainties as to how our society can sustain its present direction.
With these beliefs in mind, Aidan wants to figure out where we are really headed as a society and how to make sure there is a bright future for all of us, since our life’s characteristics are symptoms of corporate decision-making.
As he goes forward, Aidan hopes to attend law school. While he understands how the world of business works, he still want to learn more about the boundaries companies face in the world. More specifically, how the world enables business to act in the ways it does, and how government and society regulate business to be ethical.
He hopes to develop a deeper understanding of the world we live in and be a driver of meaningful change—no matter how small.
